Haley Shackelford of Gillette etched her name into the history books on Sunday at the Olive Glenn Country Club in Cody.
Shackelford, a senior-to-be in high school, continued her solid summer play with three-day scores of 75, 76, and 73 totaling 224 to win by three strokes. After 36 holes, Shackelford found herself three strokes behind the 2010 Wyoming Women's Amateur champion Miranda Bandemer.
Bandemer, a Loveland, Colorado resident, fired a final round of 79 for a 54-hole total of 227, but it wasn't enough to match the impressive final round of Shackelford.
First round leader and Cody resident Afton Balling finished third place in the championship flight firing rounds of 73, 78, and 77. Shackelford will now look forward to August 8-9 at Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis to claim the Junior Amateur to match her Women's Amateur trophy.
In the 1st flight, Teresa Eicher of Cody won her flight by 5 strokes firing a 54-hole total of 265. Runner-up in the flight at 270 was Moorcroft's Kaydee Good.
Sarah Schroefel of Worland took honors in the 2nd flight by a margin of 15 strokes with a total of 276. Linda Campbell from Cody came in at 291, good enough for second place.
